Keswick had a mixed end to the football season. The recently crowned Westmorland Football League Division One champions suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to Wetheriggs United in the High Sheriff's Cup Final on Thursday night.

Wetheriggs left Keswick stunned as Ben Brookes grabbed the crucial goal.

But Keswick lifted themselves and bounced back in their final league game on Saturday to defeat second-placed Kendal United 3-0. Richard Bannister scored a brace while Chris Rowley was also found the net.

Keswick's league season concluded with an unbeaten record of 22 wins from 24 games, with two draws. They scored 110 goals, with just 25 goals conceded.

Appleby signed off their season in style after they thumped Ambleside United 6-1, while Simon Parkin scored a hat trick as Sedbergh Wanderers defeated Lunesdale United 6-1.

Sedbergh were back in action on Tuesday night playing Lunesdale for the second time in a few days. Wanderers sauntered to a 6-2 win with Alistair Bainbridge scoring a hat trick.

In Division Two, it was an end of season feel at Kendal United Reserves as they crashed to a 7-0 home defeat to Ambleside United Reserves at Bulmire Stripes.

Shap defeated Staveley United 5-3, while Pirelli climbed up to second in the table as they ran riot with a 7-1 win over Keswick Reserves.

Burneside were also winners as they defeated Coniston 6-0.

In Division Three Ibis Reserves were comfortable 3-0 winners over AFC Carlisle. Jay Hayton was among the goal scorers.

Penrith Royal won 5-1 at Dent Reserves, while Lunesdale United Reserves won 4-3 at Burneside Reserves thanks to braces from Ben Jackson and Shaun Sorrenson.

Ullswater United defeated Burneside Reserves 14-0 on Monday night. In the other games Endmoor KGR Reserves collected two positive results as a Sam Wilson goal saw them beat Appleby Reserves 1-0, while they also claimed a 1-1 draw at AFC Carlisle, Connor Crashaw Collins with the goal.

Fixtures in divisions one and three are now completed. A lot of the teams in Division Two will end their campaign this coming weekend.
