Pirelli won the Mason and Freeman Cup after routing Coniston 7-3 in a high-scoring final at Kendal Town Football Club on Tuesday night.

In a lively opening, Coniston had the first opportunity on goal as Andrew Wane's effort was pushed out for a corner by Pirelli goalkeeper Dan Musgrave.

Coniston were made to pay for the missed opportunity as Pirelli scored in the sixth minute when Kelvin James headed the ball home from close range.

Once Pirelli went inf ront, Coniston could have equalised in the tenth minute, only for Paul Walker's effort to flash wide of the right hand post.

However, Pirelli dominated the rest of the first half, as they made it 2-0 on 25 minutes as Ellis James slotted the ball home from close range.

Phil Edmondson almost pulled one back for Coniston, but Pirelli struck the decisive blow on the stroke of half time as Ellis James scored his second, making the most of a defensive mix up, as he slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

Pirelli went in 3-0 up at half time.

At the start of the second half Pirelli scored two goals in quick succession. Scott Priest made it 4-0 after being left unmarked in the box before a ball in from the left was headed home by Jordan Harrison.

Coniston, to their credit, kept going and pulled one goal back when Ben Clarke scored, while Phil Edmondson almost pulled a second back, only for Dan Musgrave in the Pirelli goal to clear the ball.

Coniston remained on the attack and grabbed a second when David Cooper headed home.

Pirelli got back on the ball and regained control of the game. Jordan Irving's ball across the penalty box was slotted home by Shaun Wood as Pirelli went 6-2 up in the 82nd minute.

Pirelli grabbed a seventh goal on the 85 minutes when Jamie Lee Hull scored, before Coniston scored a late consolation through Phil Edmondson, who saw his powerful free kick go into the back of the net.

But it was Pirelli who were celebrating at Beh final whistle after a dominant 7-3 victory.
