Following their success in the County Championships Ulverston’s swimmers turned their attention to the Age Group Competitions at Kendal and once again the girls produced some spectacular results.

Felicity Boyle, 10, won a total of six titles in both sprints and distances, including both 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Her finest efforts though were in the freestyle where at both 50m and 100m she proved untouchable, winning with a fair degree of ease.

Shannon Parker was also in sparkling form on her way to four titles. She swept to victory in the 100m backstroke and 100m individual medley. However it was the 50m and 100m freestyle where she reigned supreme as she stormed to victory.

Two other youngsters got in amongst the minor awards with four 2nds and a 3rd going to Amelia Mardel and a well earned 3rd place to Imogen Stoker.

Though more concerned with saving their energy for Championship finals the senior swimmers also gave a good account of themselves. Nicola Capstick swam to comfortable victories at 100m backstroke and the Individual Medley, then got minor awards for 50m and 100m freestyle and 200m backstroke.

Alix Knagg claimed 100m backstroke, while Georgina Milburn had brilliant wins in both 100m and 200m breaststroke and she added place awards in 50m freestyle and 200m backstroke. To complete a highly satisfactory set of results for the squad, more minor awards went to Tom Robinson (Butterfly), Indya Sharp (Backstroke, Breaststroke), Amy Richardson (Freestyle) and Niall Cush (Breaststroke).
