KENDAL took a squad of 18 swimmers to the Blackpool Rocks Open Meet and once again young Elliot Woodburn proved to be in outstanding form winning three golds and one silver medals.

He opened with second place in a the 50 backstroke then cruised to an easy victory in the 200m backstroke, leading from start to finish.

Woodburn continued to dominate his Age Group with further wins at 50m and 200m breaststroke.

Emily Reay, 15, found herself having mixed fortunes competing in the 15/overs which left her with a clutch of the minor medals - taking four silver medals at 50m and 100m butterfly, then again at 50m and 100m freestyle - before eventually striking gold in the 50m backstroke.

She then completed her meet with a well earned bronze in the 100 backstroke.
Her sister Amy also got in the mix with a marvellous all round display to take the bronze medal in the 200m Open Individual Medley.
Another in fine form was 12-year-old Megan Jones whose outstanding ability at breaststroke brought her a pair of silver medals over 50m and 100m.

Her final success came from the 200m backstoke where her tactical sense enabled her to hold off challenges and take the bronze medal with a fair degree of ease.

Lucy Sargeant, 10, also produced some outstanding performances at breaststroke picking up medals for both her 50m and 200m races.

Alice Eastwood, whose elegant stroke and technique is usually more suited to the longer breaststroke events, stormed to a marvellous third place finish to take a well deserved bronze medal.
