BOWNESS A have maintained their early good form in the Kendal and Distirct Bowling League Division One after a second consecutive 8-2 win at home to Levens A to give them a two point lead at the top.

Last year’s winners, Victoria A, are hot on their heels thanks to confident 6-4 away win at Kings Arms Hale A.

Netherfield A also won on the ru, winning by the same scoreline at Burneside A while Holme A battled to a 7-3 win at newly-promoted Netherfield B. Division One new boys Burton A picked up their first win of the season coming away from Holme B with a 7-3 victory.

Both teams relegated last year from Division One show their intent for reinstatement in early season matches in Division Two.

Allithwaite A produced the best away win of the week, winning 8-2 at Arnside A and Crosthwaite A performance produced a strong 6-4 win at Staveley A. These two lead Division Two after two week however Netherfield C and Lindale A are hot on their tails.

Lower Holker B produced the best win from Division Three beating Hawkshead 8-2 to go third but strong 7-3 away win from Ambleside A puts them in top spot. Abbot Hall A are second after a 5-5 draw at Ingleborough.

Staveley B's excellent form resulted in a 10-0 win at home to Kings Arms Hale C in Division Four to put them into second place behind Heversham A who impressed in a 9-1 win at Milnthorpe B. In joint second place, Burneside B who won 7-3 at home to Sedbergh and Subscription B who won 6-4 at newly-promoted Burton B.

Endmoor B made it two wins from two in Division Five after a strong 9-1 home win over Ingleborough B.

Chasing them hard in early season are Kirkby Lonsdale B who won 9-1 at home to Lower Holker C and Lindale C beat Victoria C by the same scoreline.

Next week, the newly formed Division Six will start its fixtures.
