TOM Robinson was a splash hit at Cumbria’s latest round of Age Group competitions after he dominated the Boys 14yr old Age Group.

The Ulverston Swimming Club member left his rivals trailing in his wake after winning six titles at the Copeland Pool at Whitehaven.

Robinson made an immediate statement of intent in the 100m backstroke heats, setting a pace which his opponents had no answer.

It was a repeat performance in the final, winning by a large margin.

No matter what the distance or stroke he just got better and better but probably his best efforts were in butterfly where at 50m and 200m he had too much skill for his challengers timing his wins to perfection.

He also won the 400m freestyle and individual medley then put in another magnificent all round display to win the 100m IM.

Another of the club’s stars was Rebecca Fell who also had multiple success.

She touched home first in the 100m butterfly and breaststroke finals and another clear victory came from the 200m IM where her all round talents came into play with positive results.

Amy Richardson, 17, was in outstanding form in the 50m and 100m freestyle digging deep into her reserves to keep her rivals at bay, then launching devastating attacks to set her on the path to victory.

Backstroke specialist, Nicola Capstick, took up the challenge at 50m freestyle where her sprinting ability shone through to bring her the 13yr old title.

Amelia Mardel, 10, and 11-year-old Shannon Parker also added their names to the winners list with Mardel lifting the 50m freestyle and 100m breaststroke titles, while Parker touched out her opponents by a fingernail in an exciting blanket finish for the win.

Other minor place awards went to Anna Morrison, Indya Sharp, Rhiannon Ellis and Joshua Turner to complete a brilliant set of results for the Club.
