The Westmorland Football League kicked-off again this weekend in typically high scoring fashion.

In Division 1, mid table Sedbergh Wanderers put lowly Ambleside to the sword, thrashing them 8-0 at home thanks to hat tricks from Alistair Bainbridge and Alex Fearn as well as goals from Dean Raw and Christopher Milburn .

It confounded Ambleside's woes as they currently lie bottom of the table with no points.

Wetheriggs United beat Windermere 3-1 and move up to third position only three points off leaders Keswick with a game in hand.

In the one remaining Senior Challenge Cup game, Appleby progressed thanks to an entertaining 3-2 win at Kendal Utd.
