KENDAL Town boss Dave Foster left the club by mutual consent last night.

Foster's departure comes after a string of bad results that have seen the Mintcakes go nine games in the league and cup without a win.

A statement from Club Chairman Haydon Munslow said: "Kendal Town Football Club are sorry to announce that David Foster has stepped down as men's team manager by mutual consent with immediate effect.

"Michael Stringfellow has been appointed as Caretaker Manager with a view to making a permanent appointment later next week.

"Applications are invited from Managers for this opportunity to take forward an experienced squad with a realistic budget at an ambitious, members led, community focused club.

"Ideally the applicant will be experienced within the Northern Premier or North West Counties leagues.

"Kendal Town FC would like to pay tribute to David Foster’s hard work on and off the pitch as a player, coach and Manager over an extended period.

"Applicants should contact Club Secretary Craig Campbell as soon as possible for more details on "craig_campbell1@sky.com or 07980 660428."
