WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT THE LAKES? The landscape of fells, lakes and tarns all on my doorstep.

I love watching the seasons change here – where I lived previously I never noticed them because they all seemed to blend into one.

AND THE WORST? Parking and house prices are pretty horrible.

They are two things I have absolutely no control over so I try to not let them bother me too much.

FAVOURITE PLACE IN THE LAKES? There are so many but Loughrigg early in the morning is special to me.

My husband and I take our dog Holly up there most mornings before work. At this time of the day it is a different fell to the daytime and we are often the only ones about – the perfect way to start a day!

FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT? I love Zeffirellis in Ambleside. Being a vegetarian it’s the perfect place for me.

FAVOURITE MEMORY Fell running as the sun is going down over the Old Man of Coniston, downing a pint at the Old Dungeon Ghyll after a good day climbing, coming home and seeing the mountains after being away for the weekend, the list goes on.

I also just recently walked the Cumbria Way with a friend which was fantastic.

WHAT ONE CHANGE WOULD YOU MAKE TO THE AREA? Affordable housing is a real issue and the price we pay for living in such a location.

It's a difficult problem to overcome but one that needs resolving or many villages will lose their community as younger people move away.

SUM UP THE LAKES IN 5 WORDS Invigorating, inspiring, scenic beautiful and wet.
