A RURAL post office will re-open in a village pub next Tuesday (December 9).
Tunstall Post Office closed temporarily on September 30, following the resignation of the subpostmaster.
However, Mike Bowker, who also runs Carnforth and Halton Post Offices, has been appointed to provide an outreach service at The Lunesdale Arms, in Tunstall, every Tuesday between 9am and 1pm.
The new branch will offer the same range of services, including personal banking, foreign currencies and travel insurance, and benefit payments in cash. It has a hearing loop and space for a wheelchair.
Post Offices Ltd field change adviser Davey Armstrong said: “We apologise to customers for the inconvenience this temporary closure has undoubtedly caused but I’m sure that they will be delighted to learn it will be business as usual at the post office from next Tuesday.”
