We have had a fantastic weekend in Ulverston, our 10th Annual Dickensian Festival lived up to every expectation. The weather even gave us an atmospheric fog on the Saturday and a sharp frost with sunshine on the Sunday, real Victorian weather.

The town was packed with visitors from far and wide, even Country Files BBC camera's managed to find us.

Two days of entertainment from local Brass Bands, Choirs, Folk Bands and Street Entertainers lifted the mood of the crowds. There were children's fairground, raffle, giant tombola, children's hat making, birds of prey were on display, a miniature railway, a steam bus; donkey rides from the Gill, Santa's Grotto and many, many more.

Stall holders dressed in Dickensian costume sold their wares, many local residents dressed up to help create the atmosphere, prizes were won for fancy dress, best Dickensian Family, best Dickensian Boy and Girl, best Hat and best Whiskers etc.

The whole weekend has been a credit to the Dickensian Committee, who worked extremely hard to put on such a wonderful event.
