Saturday 6th September, 2008 saw the Opening Ceremony of Ulverston Charter Festival 2008.
The Charter Princess Sophie, her Deputy Charlotte, the Charter Co-ordinator Jo Ward, myself and various other people marched behind Ulverston Town Band from the Coronation Hall to the Market Cross to open the Charter Festival.
At this ceremony the Princess and her Deputy are crowned, presentations of Ulverston In Bloom and Allotment Prizes are given out, we raise the Charter Flag and then we are entertained by the Town Band.
This years Charter Princess is Sophie Baqai, her Deputy is Charlotte Holmes, both are Sixth Form Students.
