Sunday 8th June, 2008 was my Civic Sunday. Civic Guests included the Deputy Mayor Cllr. Norman Bishop-Rowe and his wife Eileen, members of Ulverston Town Council with the Town Clerk and his wife Ann, the Chairman of South Lakeland District Council and the Chief Executive of South Lakeland District Council, the Mayors of Barrow, Dalton, Kendal, Grange and Millom with their partners and members of my family. The parade including members of the British Legion, Police, Fire and Ambulance Service, and organisations representing the town marched to the Methodist Church to music from the Ulverston Town Band.

The Rev. Tony Wells conducted a lovely service, the theme of which was Partnership Working. Jayne Kendall, South Lakeland District Councils Regeneration Officer and Ulverston Market Town Initaiative Officer read the second lesson for me and the choir sang an Anthem. I was presented with a Bible by the Furness Gideon's Society.

After the service it was back to the Coronation Hall, where I hosted a buffet for all those who attended. Music was provided by the Town Band. It was a wonderful sunny day.
