The first team for Kirkby Stephen Hockey Club finished 2023 in style with a battling win over the weekend.
The ladies squad were able to despatch Garstang 4-1 on Saturday after the previous two fixtures had been called off because of the snow.
Tilly Rose and Martha Bainbridge were the heroes for the side with two goals each.
Considering Kirkby Stephen had missed two weekends of hockey due to frost, their game was filled with grit and determination, and finished the first half of the season with a fantastic team effort.
In contrast, the second and third teams could not follow in their footsteps, suffering defeats to Chorley Phoenix and Sedbergh respectively.
