It’s always a special moment when we get to experience alcohol for the first time.

South Lakeland residents took a trip down memory lane last week after revealing the pubs where they had their first pint.

Dave Brownlow said: "Brookside Hotel in Windermere. Before that, I was only allowed halves."

Michael Forrest said: "In a Post Office in County Clare. They had a Guinness Bar in the corner. The Postmistress poured and paid for it. I was 12!"

Stephen Hewitt said: "First alcohol the horseshoe at Hutton Roof when my late aunt and uncle ran it.. first going buying the pied Bull newton le willows."

Brian Docherty said: "In South Shields Police Club when I was 16 as an apprentice at the Shields Gazette."
