NEWS that the NHS is to launch a national review of patient transport to and from hospital has been welcomed by MP Tim Farron.
A campaign led by Age UK and backed by Mr Farron has highlighted the 'painful journeys' issue, as it has become known, whereby many people, in particular the elderly, struggle with travelling to hospital appointments.
It is hoped the review will address the issue and revamp an NHS transport system which Age UK have said "is not fit for purpose."
