RESIDENTS have been invited to express their opinions on the future of Kendal's mental health services.

Senior clinicians from the Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will be available at a drop-in event to talk to members of the public about Westmorland General Hospital's Kentmere Ward.

Views expressed will be independently recorded by Healthwatch Cumbria, who will present a report to the Trust's board of directors.

Dr Andy Brittlebank, medical director of the Trust said: "While we undertake more work to be absolutely certain that we have done everything possible to ensure the quality and safety of the service on the Kentmere site, we are keen to hear from members of the community about their concerns and talk to them about their experiences and the issues we currently have with the environment on the Kentmere site.

"We then intend to hold some more detailed workshops so that community members, staff, and partners can help us shape what services we would put in place if we do need to make a temporary closure."

The drop-in event will take place on June 30 at South Lakes Foyer, Yard 95 between 1-7pm.
