NEW research from Unilever UK has claimed that Brits are out of touch with trees.
During a study in which families were asked to recognise the UK’s most common trees (ash, birch, oak, horse chestnut and beech) only one per cent of parents and one per cent of children were able to recognise all five.
The study of 1,000 families was undertaken by Unilever as part of its brightFuture campaign, to raise awareness of the importance of trees and forests in the run up to the United Nation’s Climate Change Summit, COP21, later this year.
