MOTORISTS are being warned of traffic disruption in Barrow-in-Furness on Wednesday morning and afternoon as BAE Systems transports large jigs by road.

The jigs, used to aid submarine construction, will be transported from Associated British Ports to Shipyard Gate via Michaelson Road and Bridge Road at 9.15am and 2.30pm. The movements are due to last around 30 minutes and there will be minor disruption to traffic.

Car parking along the centre of Michaelson Road will be cordoned off from midnight today (Tuesday) until after the moves have taken place.

Drivers are urged to remove their vehicles before this time.
