Buyers continue to look for well finished lambs, with lambs lacking finish penalised today. Topping trade this morning were a pen of heavy weight lambs from C & B Lowther, Over Wyresdale, realising £80/head at 55kgs. Top price per kilo came from Peter Pye of Marl House with light weight 34kg lambs achieving 182ppk.

Cast Sheep. A better show of ewes this morning, selling to a top of £116 for a Texel ewe from Elsie Hartley, Hornby. Tups sold to a top of £91 for a Texel from GR Newsham, Galgate. Mules sold to £73 from WM Pye, Stodday. Horned sheep to £48 from RH & C Ayrton & Son, Abbeystead and Cheviots to £38 for a pen of 20 from SE & J Gorst, Littledale.
