THE fourth Holme Festival of Sport has been hailed a 'huge success' after hundreds of people took part in an eclectic mix of events.
The sports kicked off with a two kilometre fun run for children. Afterwards, around 200 people took part in the main Holme Howler 10km race, which was won by Ray Edgar in 33.54, with Tom Tipping second (35.50) and Andrew Fairbairn third (38.51).
Other sports included a six-a-side football competition in which 10 local teams took part, an archery demonstration by the Bowmen of Holme and a tennis club and bowling club open afternoons.
Traditional village sports such as welly wanging, tyre flipping and egg throwing were also held.
