Vale of Lune flashed through the fog at Tyldesley to record their eighth North Two West victory of the season and to avenge the defeat inflicted on them at Powder House Lane last October.

Although the home side opened the scoring with an early penalty goal the Vale hit back with tries from Andy Garnett and Alex Cowey, his try being converted by Andy Miller. Tyldesley registered a converted try after the Vale's scoring spree to complete the first half scoring.

An early second half penalty gave the home side a slender one point lead, but the Vale came back strongly, a Garnett penalty putting them back in front. A thrilling try from Vale's speed merchant, James Curran, converted by Garnett wrapped the game up in favour of the visitors.

VALE'S under-13s stormed into the next round of the EFE Challenge Cup as they romped past Bolton.

The locals had one mission and that was to seal their place in the quarter finals.

That was exactly what they proceeded to do from the very first play of the ball. Unfortunately for Bolton they were on the receiving end of a very determined Vale side.

The clinical attacks, security at the break-down and slick passing all lead to the awesome team performance.

Hobbs opened the scoring with a powerful break through the stunned Bolton side giving them a taste of what was to come.

Multiple tries by wings Arbon and Hall, three by second row Fellows and individuals by Swarbrick, Kingston, Belshire,Waite and a debut by Coupe just showed the visitors abilities to cut apart the opposition.
