TWO men have been charged with drug offences following a police operation aimed at disrupting criminal activity and reducing the number of road traffic collisions that result in serious or fatal injuries.
The operation ran on January 21 as officers from South Cumbria Operational Unit were joined by colleagues at VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency), officers from Cumbria Police’s Collision Investigation Unit and patrol officers from Kendal Police Station.
The operation, named Harrier, was conducted at Burton-in-Kendal services.
A drug seizure of cannabis worth approximately £10,000 was made and two men were arrested and subsequently charged with conspiracy to supply a controlled drug of Class B.
David Cain, 28, of Beck Avenue, Dumfries, appeared at Barrow Magistrates Court on January 23.
Robert Kennon, 44, of Anwoth Avenue, Dumfries, will appear at South Lakeland Magistrates Court on February 11.
